RESEARCH INTERESTS [

From a media-effects perspective, my research examines how emerging media technologies, including social media and artificial intelligence (AI), influence individuals’ attitudes, behaviors, and information judgments, as well as their broader positive and negative consequences for individuals and society. My work spans diverse contexts, including politics, journalism, and entertainment, with particular interest in the following areas:

  • Cognitive and Social Effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI): How AI use and reliance affect cognitive processes such as learning, knowledge accumulation, and information verification, as well as individual well-being and social and political attitudes and behaviors
  • Media and Social Conflict: The conditions and mechanisms through which media and technologies amplify or mitigate differences and conflicts between social groups

Research Methods: I use a broad range of quantitative methods (surveys and experiments), qualitative methods (in-depth interviews and focus groups), and computational approaches.
